art direction and design
The Los Angeles Times Festival of Books had its 30th anniversary and took place on April 26-27th 2025 at USC. It is the largest book festival in the country and was filled with activities and outdoor events, with more than 200 authors and celebrity panels. The goal of the De Los stage was to amplify Latine stories that exist within the community and to shift the way these stories are perceived, all while creating an appreciation behind each one. The assets I created assets for the De Los Stage included a poster for the event and designed tote bags that were part of a giveaway.
When promoting this, we executed a social media rollout and worked with coordinator/emcee Norma Fabian Newton. This involved stakeholders and collaborating with LA librería Bookstore– a bookstore promoting children’s literature in Spanish and working with LA Times FOB, LA Times, and LA Times en Español accounts to coordinate and schedule announcements. We created social templates for the different authors, panelists, moderators, and scheduling info for each day. I wanted to channel a fun and bright energy to the design by incorporating shapes with nature, creatures, and books.
From print to social, I executed deliverables for the book festival.
